My name is Maddie. I’m a 25-year-old New Englander and youth services librarian making my way in the world. While I got into librarianship because I like reading to crowds in funny voices and generally making a fool of myself to the delight of children, the proximity to thousands of incredible books is a wonderful bonus.

As a child, I was fortunate to have parents who read with me constantly. My dad and I read all fifty-six Nancy Drew books together before I finished elementary school. I’ve always been a huge nerd for mystery books, but I also love sweeping fantasy epics, memoirs, and, most recently, comics and graphic novels of all types.

When I’m not reading, writing, or librarian-ing, I am usually watching bad reality TV, lifting heavy stuff, or procrasti-baking. I live in a little house near the sea with my fabulous partner Kelsey and our tiny, badly-behaved cats, Rory and Morrigan.

You can also read reviews I’ve written for No Flying No Tights and School Library Journal.

Thank you for going on this journey with me–I can’t wait to get started!
